Who We Are
This Website was created to bring parcel and home
owners of the Windmill Ranch together.
Communication via telephone is not always easy
here at the ranch as cell phones are our only choice
other than the Internet at this time, however with each
new home built at the ranch means we are one more
step to having traditional hard phone lines.
Knowing
your neighbor is important!
In todays society up to
date information is imperative to protect and up hold
the laws of our community and state.

Fires in the state of AZ are also an ongoing factor. Out
of state residents often have no way of knowing if a
potential fire is burning close to their property. So we
have a link on our site to the official Forestry Division
State Land Department which will show current fires,
past fires and much much more. This link can be
found on our Owner Resources page.

When we first moved here from Indiana we had no
idea what a CC&R was nor that open range meant
cattle could live on your porch if not fenced!
Unfortunately we learned the hard way. How nice it
would have been to have more information about the
state of AZ as well as the Ranch; it would have saved
us hundreds of dollars.

Learning what will grow here as far as landscaping is
important for those that like to have something in their
yard other than the native vegetation. Again I had to
learn the hard way. So I decided to make it easier on
everyone else and dedicate a page on our site to
those that love to garden.

News of thefts and destruction of property is also an
agenda on our site as being isolated can be
dangerous and/or expensive. Petty thefts are not
always petty when you have put all your money into
building your home. So I'm in the process of gathering
individuals together to "take it to the trails" and keep
an eye out for anything unusual. So far I have five
volunteers and hope to get more.

ROAD CONDITION UPDATE
They say that "No news is
good news." Well, we have
had no road news for many
months, and that is good. BUT
we now have some news, and
that may be bad, but only
TEMPORARILY. at least it
merits your attention.

This just in from John Mayr:

We finally had our gullywasher
for the year. Knight's Creek
crossing is passable, but at
present only with four wheel
drive. Likewise, Bull Spring
has washouts at many of the
stream crossings which make
four wheel drive highly
desirable..... Some ground
clearance also a plus since
we've had a considerable
wash of rocks..... It is
passable, but not pleasant or
comfortable. We have road
work scheduled to start on
Tuesday, Sept 25 .... Watch for
equipment on the road.
Windmill Ranches would
like to thank Gene Gertler
